According to data from CPF, 4580 people were unable to fully refund their CPF used after selling their property, which is an increasing trend from approximately 3380 people in 2018 and 3960 in 2019. The article included insights from Lena where she shared that some homeowners may still have to sell their houses at relatively low market prices during the epidemic, especially HDB flats with short remaining leases.

The article also pointed out that the number of homeowners using CPF to pay housing loan instalments has decreased in recent years. Lena pointed out that this is likely to be caused by a decline in homeownership rates in Singapore.
